    The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is widely regarded as Nepal's premier short trekking experience. Starting and finishing from Pokhara, this 5-day journey takes you through lush rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, and delivers one of the most celebrated Himalayan panoramas in the world — the sunrise from Poon Hill (3,210 m).

    Whether you are a first-time trekker, travelling with family, or simply short on time, this trek offers an authentic Himalayan experience without requiring weeks away or high-altitude acclimatization. You will pass through charming villages such as Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Ghandruk, each offering warm teahouse hospitality and breathtaking scenery.

    Itinerary

    1. 1
      Day 1

      Pokhara → Nayapul → Tikhedhunga / Ulleri

      Drive: ~1.5–2 hrs | Trek: 4–6 hrs | Elevation: 827 m → 2,050 m

      After breakfast in Pokhara, your guide and vehicle will collect you for the scenic drive to Nayapul — your trek starting point.

      Day 2

      Ulleri → Banthanti → Ghorepani

      Trek: 5–6 hrs | Elevation: 2,050 m → 2,860 m

      Today's trail is the most scenic of the trek. The path climbs steadily through magnificent rhododendron, oak, and magnolia forests — a riot of red and pink in spring.

      Day 3

      Sunrise at Poon Hill → Ghorepani → Tadapani

      Early hike: 45–60 min | Trek: 5–6 hrs | Max Elevation: 3,210 m

      Wake before dawn for the 45-minute hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) — the highlight of the entire trek.

      Day 4

      Tadapani → Ghandruk

      Trek: 3–4 hrs | Elevation: 2,630 m → 1,940 m

      A more relaxed day with a shorter descent through forests and rhododendron groves.

      Day 5

      Ghandruk → Nayapul → Pokhara

      Trek: 3–4 hrs | Drive: ~1.5 hrs

      Enjoy a leisurely final morning in Ghandruk before descending through terraced fields, suspension bridges, and riverside trails back to Nayapul.

      Travel insurance that covers emergency helicopter evacuation is mandatory. Please carry proof.

      All package prices are per person and based on double/twin room sharing.

      The itinerary may be adjusted due to weather, trail conditions, or individual pace.

      Porter capacity: each porter carries a maximum of 24 kg. Clients are responsible for their own daypack.

      Sustainable trekking: please carry reusable water bottles and avoid single-use plastics on the trail.

    6. 06

      Tipping your guide and porter is customary and greatly appreciated. Suggested: USD 8–12/day for guide; USD 5–8/day for porter.

    7. 07

      Minimum group size is 1 person (solo trekkers welcome). Private departures are available year-round.
