A rewarding short trek through Tamang villages, forested river valleys and high Himalayan viewpoints close to Kathmandu.
The Langtang Valley Trek is one of Nepal's most rewarding shorter Himalayan journeys. Starting with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi, the trail follows the Langtang River through forest, waterfalls and Tamang villages before opening into the wide alpine valley below Langtang Lirung.
This 8-day itinerary is paced for a strong but comfortable trek, with time at Kyanjin Gompa for monastery visits, yak cheese tasting and an optional acclimatization hike to Kyanjin Ri for sweeping mountain views. It is close to Kathmandu, culturally rich and quieter than many of the classic Annapurna and Everest routes.
